My name is Alexis Long, I come from the magical land known as "Missouri," and I am known in furry and internet worlds as the poetfox. It's nice to meet you! Here are a short list of facts about me.

I'm a furry.

My Normal Avatar

Meaning I enjoy looking at art (and, yes, pornography) depicting anthropomorphic animals, and enjoy thinking myself as such an animal (a fox with bunny ears... I'm a fourth bunny). I'm sure you've heard some scary stories about furries in the past, and they're likely true. But in any fandom, there are people who are fanatical and insane. Furries are no exception. In practice, I have found my fellow furs to be among the most understanding and nice people I have ever met, and I think that this incredible understanding and acceptance of people is perhaps why more crazy people find themselves in the fandom. I'm proud to be a fur, because, as I've said, I've had almost no negative experiences with other furs, and I enjoy the feeling of fully defining myself that my furry friends give me. If the world let people do that, I think the world would be a happier place.

I'm a gamer.

I play just about every game I can get my hands on, and I track gaming news almost fanatically. Genres I enjoy are Puzzle games (I enjoy the Zen effect I get when playing them), RPGs, Adventure, and Music games, although I enjoy just about any game from any genre that is genuinely fun from time to time. Co-op stuff is definately appealing, as well as games on portable systems, as I seem to play those alot more thoroughly and fanatically. In any case, if you'd like to play a game with me, I have a list of basically all the information you'd need in order to game with me over on this page from my blog, so feel free to check it out, or use the contact information on the side to get ahold of me so we can play. If you don't know what that is, the short version is "I'm a girl, but was born with a male body." If that doesn't make sense to you, then feel free to do some research, say, about Gender Dysphoria or something. The important thing is that I'm a girl, but I've had some rather... unique experiences in my past. Heh. Well, unique among transgirls, anyway. My family is pretty much opposed to the whole "me being a girl" thing, so things are kinda... strained between me and them at the moment. But it's only a matter of time. This is who I am, and I'm sure they'll come around.

I'm a writer.

But you knew that already, didn't you? I've always had a natural inclination to make stuff up, explain things, lie about things, and be generally verbose. I like to think I have a decent level of natural talent, although I'm sure I have much more refining to go, if I ever want to make it as a professional. Making money for my writing would indeed be nice, but in all honesty, I don't care much about what my profession is, as long as I'm appreciated for my job, and get to go home to a loving family. It would certianly be a nice option, though, and we'll see if it's in my future.

I'm a good friend, and surrounded by good friends and a boyfriend with infinite understanding that I love very much. I have a fairly nice life, I like to think, and I'm fairly happy. That's all I can ask for.
