Introduction

Although I go by the name poetfox, a name I quite like, recently my focus has moved from poetry toward, almost exclusively, the amazing, underappreciated art form that is the personal essay. I find a well-written essay at least as entertaining as a good novel or short story, and marvel in their ability to lead people through the thought process of the author, and while doing so, bring the reader closer. They're a learning experience for both the person writing and reading, and I cannot get enough of them.

In my essays here I pull no punches. I speak from the heart and don't censor myself or my habits, like I might do on my blog or in real life. This is me, complete with my odd thought processes that confuse even me as to how the jumps make as much sense as they do. I hope you enjoy the trip through my mind.

These essays are posted in the Microsoft Word .doc format. This saves me from having to apply any effort to formatting them, as well as keeping the text of the essays from being searchable, which, I would think, is useful if I ever try to get these published. If you need something to read these, I highly suggest OpenOffice.
